Is it possible to live in inner peace and harmony no matter outer circumstance?

Is it possible for humany to experience a shift in conscioussness where we can experience inner peace and happiness no matter outer circumstances? Where we would feel connected to each other and by nature being interested in growth for each other and our environment?

Is it possible to have such evolution happen without, but not excluding, religious and philosophical inclinations?

In the world today we see most wars in the world happen in the name of God - we have different experiences of how we perceive this power and we have an endless fight and struggle trying to convince the outer world of our own view. In Sweden, which is the country I reside, most people here have opted for the solution to avoid the whole God-business entirely by having an atheist view of the world but being interested in the goodness of mankind. It is going pretty well here, but we are far from reaching the goal of world peace. From the news we get a pat on the back for being one of the best countries in the world for caring about our global wellbeing and taking responsibility for recycling etc. But there is a dryness of the heart in this business of working for healing of the planet and at the same time not being connected to ones own heart. This is the place that the religions world over has filled, but for an atheist - what to do?

All my life I have been consumed by the question - do you have to believe in God to know Him? Shouldn't that be something obvious to all of mankind? What kind of God gives Grace if only you believe in him? What about all the warm hearted atheists (most of my family and fellow countrymen) that did not believe in God. Was there no hope for them? They had a more scientific view of God and Nature, where as I had an inclination to full heartedly belive in God for some reason unknown to my whole family... To their great surprice I insisted on going to Sunday School at the age of 3, which is on the unusual side here in Sweden. In Sunday School I learned stories about Jesus and very enthusiastically shared these to all my fellow friends on trains and buses at this early age, to everyones amusement. I could not for my life understand why everyone was not this enthused about God, and it became my lifes mission to find a way to affect with world with infusing the interest of God without necessarily calling it God, actually I found it was much better calling it something else, as people just seemed to argue over this word.

Moving to United States at 18 years of age, I contined my search for a meaning of life and to connect full-time with this power we call God. Not just on special times such as meditations or in prayer - I wanted it all the time! What good is it otherwise!? It is in our daily living that we really need this connection - and God knows we need it!

I set out a quest to find a teaching or path that could fit into any cultural or religious background, no matter gender or age, education, philosophy or non philosophy, something that could have an affect on the human conscioussness no matter what background you come from.

Living in Los Angeles at the time, the Mekka of New Age, I thougt for sure there would be such a path here! I found fantastic lectures, workshops, books and teachers. But I didn't want to belong to a certain path, perhaps I missed something else by doing this.

My journey took me through many different paths finding treasures along the way but not landing fully into any it, since I settled for nothing less than a full experience of what I was looking for.

This Journey took me eventually back to Sweden at the age of 34 where I wanted to raise my family with my two children close to their grandparents. It was here a few years later I heard of this phenomenon taking place in India at the Oneness University where an actual transfer of energy was possible where you could experience your inner connection to God however you relate to it, whether you are a Christian, Muslem, Hindu or an Atheist does not matter. This power we call God is highly personal and we each have our own inner connection to it, like Internet we can say. All we need is a broadband and start surfing!

Needless to say I was soon on a plane to India to find out - what is this?

I was thursting for a direct experience of this, enough studies and reading and listening to others stories. What good is it if you have no experience of your own in this! So August 2003 I received what was called a Deeksha, or a tranfer of Grace, that is given like a seed that eventually flowers into an opening of the heart and a broader perspective and direct experience of Life.

It was a powerful experience that came to change the way I related to the world. The term Inner Peace and Happiness got a new meaning to me. It was not necessary to change anyones outlook on life, everything could be experienced as it was. Listening, smelling, seeing, touching, tasting - all of life - became joy in just the sheer experience of it.

And strangely enough - I did something for the first time that I had never done before: I did NOT call my parents, my sister, my friends to tell them about this Great New Phenomenon this was! You see, I was The Spiritual Seeker in the family - and they were sooo tired of me coming up with different ways they could improve their lives. It seemed they were simply not good enough in my eyes. Of course they always politely smiled and said Thank You every Christmas and Birthday when they received an upliftning book from me as a gift, but I noticed it always went straight to the bookshelf that was overflowing with these kind of books. As I saw how I had occupied myself with this upliftment for my family with little or no reults, it became quite obvious there needed to be some change in the source of all this - inside me an inner acceptance had been born. Something you could call Love. It is not based on a feeling, it is a state of conscioussness. It is an allowing that is an end it itself. And like a paradox, everything changed. One person who lives in inner peace and harmony no matter outer circumstance, can affect thousands around. It is a phenomenon that I am certain science soon will be able to explain.

In the meantime, I dare to say that a global transformatin is possible if you can find peace within your own being.

There is a very bright future ahead.

From the Heart
